Redirects are a useful tool in Cascade, used to add a link to your menu (for a page that lives elsewhere). Review the following to select your option, then follow the step-by-step instructions to create the redirect.

Table of Contents

Create the Folder with Redirect Page

1. In the Site Content tree on the left, click on the folder name where you wish to create the new folder.

2. Look for a red plus sign in the topmost header area of the page, and click on Add Content.

3. Inside the Common folder, select Default Folder from the dropdown menu.

4. Fill in the Folder Name and Display Name.

The Folder Name will generate the page URL, therefore, it should be all lowercase letters separated by hyphens, without underscores, special characters (e.g. #$%$%^&), or any spaces.

The Display Name will generate the labels for the left navigation, and could include capital letters, special characters, and spaces.

5. Click Submit to finish.

6. Your new folder should be highlighted in the asset tree to the left. Publish the folder.

Create the Interior Standard Page with Redirect Enabled

  1. In the section called Redirect, either choose the internal Cascade page OR fill in the URL if it is an external link. (including the http://)

  2. Save & Preview >> Submit >> Check Content & Submit then publish. Publish a folder level up to ensure the appropriate menus are updated
